SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - Due to field conditions, all games are cancelled for today, and the entire schedule moves forward one day.

Games tomorrow:

9AM - Continuation of MI vs. IL

11:30AM - IN vs. IA

3PM - WI vs. KY

5PM - OH vs. MO

Monday and Tuesday's schedule will change pending the outcome of Sunday's activities as well as weather and/or field conditions.

Rain delays Games 1 and 2

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - Summer storms have delayed the first two games of the tournament.

The first game, MI vs. IL was suspended in the top of the 2nd inning with MI up to bat and leading 2-0.

The second game, Indiana vs. Iowa, originally scheduled to start at 11:30am CT has been postponed until approximately 1pm CT, pending field conditions.

The first game re-scheduled for 1pm CT will be further postponed pending updates from the field crew.

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - The tournament finished with two great games that led to the tournament championship. 

Early in the day, Norridge Harwood Heights (IL) defeated Oak Creek (WI) in a closely fought game to then meet Poland Community (OH) for the Championship Game.  The Championship game was a tightly contested game where Poland prevailed, winning the Regional title for the second year in a row.

Congratulations to Poland Community Little League (OH) on winning the 2017 Central Region Junior Softball Regional Tournament.  Poland will represent Central Region at the Junior League World Series in Kirkland, WA.   The World Series starts on July 30 and runs through August 5th.

POLAND COMMUNITY LITTLE LEAGUE (OH) is the 2017 Central Region Junior League Softball Champion and representative to the 2017 Junior League Softball World Series.



SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - Weather forced the tournament to shuffle the schedule a bit, as well as eventually suspend a game due to darkness.

5:30PM - OH vs. WI - MOVED TO 3:30PM CDT, Monday 7/24

Note - there was a technical issue with the KY/MO game on GameChanger.  The final score is accurate, however, the scoresheet and stats will not be correct.

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - Due to the incredible work done by the South Holland Parks and Recreation Department, along with Mother Nature, the tournament was able to absorb a 2.5 hour delay and complete the originally scheduled games for Saturday!

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - The overnight deluge has impacted the ability for the tournament to start on time today, however, games are targeted to start at 1pm CDT weather and field quality permitting.

The INDIANA vs. MICHIGAN game would be played at 9am on Sunday morning, 7/23 and all games scheduled for Sunday will move forward one game slot in the original schedule.  The last game on Sunday will move to Monday at 9am.

Opening Ceremonies in the books!

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL - Several hundred players, fans and volunteers gathered to witness the 2017 Central Region Junior Softball Regional Opening Ceremonies, held Friday, 7/21 at Veterans Memorial Park.

The festivities included the parade of State Champions, a color guard provided by world-renowned Chicago-based Pipe and Drum band The Shannon Rovers, introduction of key volunteer staff, a welcome and ceremonial pitch by Mayor Don DeGraff, comments by a representative of the Southland Chamber of Commerce as well as a welcome from Sandy Ducat, Tournament Director and District Administrator of Illinois District 6 Little League.

The ceremonies also featured a 'spirit' contest where each participating team presented a cheer.  After much deliberation by the volunteer umpire staff, Wisconsin's Oak Creek Little League were declared the 2017 Tournament Spirit Winners.

Immediately following the Opening Ceremonies, the teams and fans enjoyed a donated pizza banquet featuring pizza from local favorite Aurelio's.  In addition, banquet attendees were treated to a live performance from Jonathan Moody of the Jonathan Moody Band ( who traveled from Houston to perform for the event.
